Applied Behavior Analysis or ABA is a therapy that was initially developed over 50 years ago. ABA has evolved over the years into the leading therapy for people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ABA focuses on teaching the skills needed to increase learning and coping, while decreasing problematic behavior that limits an individuals access to social opportunities and their community.

Getting Started with ABA

Those interested in ABA services should contact Adaptive Solutions by email (info@adaptivebx.com) or phone (574) 786-0088. We can schedule a walk through of the center with a Board Certified Behavior Analysist (BCBA) with time for questions.

Those interested in beginning an assessment with Adaptive Solutions should call or email. At this time, we will begin by collecting insurance and diagnostic information. This may include copies of insurance cards, diagnosis of ASD from a psychiatrist, and other client information. Most insurances currently require a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for ABA services to be covered.

After information is collected, a request for an Initial Assessment is created and sent to the clients insurance company. Once Adaptive Solution's has received the authorization for treatment someone will contact you to set up a time for the initial assessment.

During the initial assessment process at Adaptive Solutions, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work with the family through interviews and testing to design a personalized treatment plan. A core strength of ABA is a focus on reinforcement. This is done by breaking down skills into easier to learn steps and presenting rewards as clients are learning. This treatment plan focuses on the needs of the client and continues to evolve as the client meets their goals.

At this time the BCBA, will finish compiling the information obtained during the initial assessment period. They will create  a Plan of Care that includes information regarding the client's current level of functioning, personalized short and long term goals, and recommended services. This plan is then sent to insurance for approval. After approval is received someone from Adaptive Solutions will reach out to set up ongoing services.
